Maintenance Trades
+ Carpentry
A variety of carpentry tasks are supported by our team. Please see Department Billing
for more information.
+ Elevators
Problems with elevators should be reported to the Campus Services Helpdesk system.
For emergencies please contact Campus Safety, 541-383-7272.
+ Flooring
Replacement: Contact maintenance department for an evaluation. If it is not a repair
or scheduled replacement a funding code will need to be provided.
+ Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
Building climate systems are operated by Maintenance. Problems with HVAC systems,
or requests for temperature adjustments, should be reported to the Campus Services
HelpDesk.
+ Light Bulb Replacement
Lights in building fixtures are replaced by the Maintenance department. To report
a light out or submit a lighting upgrade request, please submit a Campus Services HelpDesk ticket.
+ Painting
Please contact the maintenance department for evaluation. If it is not a repair or scheduled replacement a funding code will need to be provided.
+ Pest Management
COCC uses an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach that stresses prevention and
the use of non‐chemical controls when possible. It also limits the use of pesticides
unless pest populations are over action thresholds. To report a pest management issue,
please submit a Campus Services HelpDesk ticket.
+ Plumbing
For plumbing concerns please submit a Campus Services HelpDesk ticket.
+ Preventive Maintenance
Inspections and preventive maintenance services are regularly provided by the maintenance
department.
+ Signs and Banners
The following departments create and maintain the following signage:
- Campus Safety – Parking & Traffic Control
- Grounds – Exterior sign replacement
- Campus Services – Plaques, building signage, directional signage and building directories
- Maintenance - Interior signage, including room numbers and nameplates (Dept Funded).
All signs are designed, made, and installed per campus standards and applicable ADA
and building codes. For advice or help with Signage, please submit a
Campus Services HelpDesk ticket and the maintenance department will contact you for a consultation.
+ Department Billing
Will my department be billed?
There is no charge for routine maintenance or repair activities in academic buildings.
However, enhancements, remodeling, and installations do incur a charge and you will
be asked to provide an index code.
Non-Billable Services: Generally any maintenance, repair, or replacement of existing building systems or
infrastructure. Examples include but are not limited to:
- Leak/Plumbing repairs
- Repairing damaged ceiling tiles
- Repairing damaged fixed-seating
- Repairing doors and door hardware
- Replacing light bulbs/repairing fixtures
- Temperature Adjustments
Billable Services: Generally any new installation or modification to an existing space. Please select
New Install under the purpose tab when submitting a work order. Examples include but
are not limited to:
- Making and installing signs
- Flooring installation
- Office Painting
- Building/ Upgrades

Can I get a cost estimate first? Yes. Please indicate in the work request that an estimate is needed. Additional information

+ Accessibility
The
Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) is located in Library 011, and is available to assist students. Students with
access requirements are encouraged to set-up accommodations with SSD. Employee accommodations
are coordinated through the office of
Human Resources.

The non-instructional scheduler provides comprehensive
event scheduling services, including booking indoor and outdoor spaces.
Event-Setup assistance including rental of tables and chairs can be request, through a School Dude request.

+ Keys & Access
Can I request a key via the work request system?Desk, file cabinet and padlock keys can be requested through the customer request
system under
Doors and Hardware and will be paid for by the department requesting the keys. Please include your index.
All other keys for offices and classrooms require a work order under Key request,
for more information please check out the
Key Requests page.
