Non Destructive Testing and Inspection
*Beginning in Spring term of 2016 this program is no longer accepting new students. Students who are currently declared in these programs should contact program director Bruce Emerson to develop an academic plan.
COCC's Manufacturing and Applied Technology Center (MATC) intends to start a new program to prepare students to enter the field of Non Destructive Testing and Inspection. Our intention is to offer an Associate degree in Applied Science (AAS) in NDTI as well as certificates that align with the most commonly accepted areas of specialized inspection knowledge in NDTI. These include:
- Ultrasonic Inspection
- Eddy Current Inspection
- Magnetic Particle and Dye Penetrant Inspection
- Radiological inspection
The program will be housed within the new Redmond Technology Center in a 2400+ square foot classroom / laboratory space.
The curriculum is being developed based on the proven combination of the self-paced learning environment model used at the MATC and other nationally accredited community college NDTI programs.
It is based on the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) best practice document SNT-TC-1A. Our coursework is being designed to prepare students to achieve (ASNT) Level I technician status after graduation and necessary on-the-job training.
