Open Play opportunities allow COCC students, staff and community members to enjoy on-campus pickup games and practice sessions, as well as access to free passes for local off-campus facilities. 


Basketball 

Mazama Gymnasium is available for pickup basketball or just to shoot around during non-class times. Open-gym hours can be found on the Mazama Gym Hours Schedule.


Volleyball 

Mazama Gymnasium is reserved for open-play volleyball at various times based on which term it is. During Winter 2026, open-gym volleyball is Thursday from 6-9pm.


Tennis 

Students, staff, and community can use the tennis courts at non-class times during Mazama open hours.


Table Tennis

Students, staff, and community can access ping-pong tables at any time during Mazama open hours.


Bowling Passes - Lava Lanes Bowling Alley

FREE bowling passes to Lava Lanes are available for COCC students (with current ID) from Zoey Foote in Mazama 117. These passes are on a first-come, first-served basis and are good for 1 free game of bowling plus shoe rental.  No groups over 6 people, please.


Swim & Skate Passes - 10 Visits to BPRD Facilities

FREE swim and skate passes are available for currently-enrolled COCC students through Bend Parks and Rec, and provide access to the Juniper Swim and Fitness Center, Larkspur Community Center, and The Pavilion skate rink for ice and roller skating (pass does not include skate rentals).  Please email zfoote@cocc.edu with your student ID number and a picture of your current class schedule to get on the list. These passes are good for 10 free visits per term to any BPRD facility, and must be renewed via email each term.


On-Campus Fitness Center, Track & Trail

Complete with cardio equipment and strength machines/free weights, the Mazama Fitness Center is open during regular Mazama hours. We also offer an outdoor track and field and the 1.35 mile Bobcat Trail through campus. 

**When Fitness Center classes are in session, please use the other weight and cardio rooms.


Rock Climbing at Bend Endurance Academy

BEA has COCC-specific climbing times at their gym (located at 222 SE Reed Market Rd. in Bend), FREE for students with their COCC ID. Climbing times are:

-Tuesday: 5:45-8pm
-Friday: 4:15-7:30pm
-Saturday / Sunday: 12-3pm 


Disc Golf Course

Back after a 10-year absence, the Cascade Forest Disc Golf Course is a 9-basket course located between the track, Barber Library, and Wickiup Hall. 

*Cascade Forest Disc Golf Course is CLOSED M-F 8am - noon for Outdoor Leadership classes*


Sports Equipment Lending

Sports Equipment is available for students (with student ID), Faculty and Staff to borrow from the Fitness Center Attendant, any time during Mazama hours.
