Athletic Access Fund

Being active is an important part of well-being, connection, and college experience—and it should be accessible to everyone. We recognize that different activities come with different costs, and that not all students have the same access to resources. This fund is designed to help level that playing field.

what is the athletic access fund?

The Athletic Access Fund exists to:

    • Reduce financial barriers to participation
    • Support new and emerging activities
    • Help students stay active in ways that matter to them
    • Empower students to build new sport communities on campus

Whether you're continuing a sport you love, trying something new, or creating something that doesn’t yet exist here we want to help make that possible.

If cost, access, or availability is standing between you and a sport you care about we want to help.

"Playing for Bend FC this summer was an incredible experience. Not only was I able to create a team and become captain, which really helped me build leadership skills, but it also opened so many doors for new connections. I met some truly wonderful and kind women through my women's league and coed team, and I loved every minute of playing with them. The Athletic Access Fund made all of this possible, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to connect with their community through sports especially as a college student. It’s great when you're balancing academics and looking for ways to connect."

Why Apply?

The Athletic Access Fund is designed for students who want to stay active, try something new, or build something bigger especially when cost, access, or opportunity might otherwise stand in the way. You should consider applying if any of the following resonate with you:

Is there a financial barrier?

Some sports come with costs that can add up quickly whether it’s equipment, facility access, or league fees. Even small financial barriers can make participation difficult, and this fund exists to help remove those obstacles.

Does the sport exist on campus? No....not yet!

Have an idea for a new club or team? We want to support students who are ready to bring new activities to life. Whether you’re just starting to build interest or already have a small group, this fund can help you take the next step.

You’re already participating but need help to continue

Staying involved can be just as challenging as getting started.

Funding can help cover things like:

    • Travel or tournament costs
    • League or registration fees
    • Equipment replacement

Looking to build community?

This isn’t just about individual participation—it’s about community.

Apply if you’re interested in:

    • Starting a new team or club
    • Growing an informal group into something more structured
    • Creating opportunities for other students to get involved

Bottom line

If cost, access, or availability is standing between you and a sport or activity you care about we want to help.
