This section offers tools, training and guidance to help you better understand the unique experiences of veterans and create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment. Resources are available to support your role in helping student veterans thrive in and out of the classroom.
Military Student Ally Training
COCC’s military student ally training courses (including Green Zone Training) are
intended to empower faculty and staff to support student veterans as they transition
from military life to a college environment. This training will share how to:
- Empower and advocate for student veterans, active service members, and military-affiliated students.
- Provide a safe space for all veterans, active service members, and military-affiliated students.
- Understand potential strengths and obstacles for student veterans as they transition from military service to campus life.
- Learn about resources available to student veterans, active service members, and military-affiliated students on and off campus.
