Enter your bypass code - What do I need to do?
If you see this pop up message when you try to login, your Duo Security activation is not complete.
Send an email to Student Tech Support, and provide your COCC username/email address. They will send you a text message with an activation link. Be sure you have installed the Duo Mobile app before you click the activation link.

Why Duo Security?
Phishing emails account for almost 80% of reported security incidents in higher education. Strong passwords are no longer enough and the rate of account compromises has exponentially increased.
COCC has partnered with the two-factor authentication system Duo Security to add an extra layer of protection to your COCC student accounts, like Canvas, COCC Email accounts and your Bobcat Web account. -
Who needs to use Duo Security?
Duo Security is now required for all staff, faculty and students with an @cocc.edu email address.

Why have I been locked out of Duo?
Many authentication failures, including missing push notifications or entering invalid passcodes, will cause an account to be locked. If you have five (5) consecutive failed attempts then your account will be locked for 6 minutes.

What happens if I get a new phone?
If your phone number is the same, you can reactivate Duo Mobile or activate a new phone here: Add or Manage Duo Devices
If your phone number has changed, you will need a bypass code to register the new phone. Please contact Student Tech Support. -
What should I do if I don’t have cellular or Wi-Fi service and I need Duo, like when
I’m traveling?
You can generate a passcode by opening the Duo Mobile app and tapping the entry for Central Oregon Community College. A six-digit code will be displayed. You can enter the six-digit code onto the COCC Login multi-factor screen by selecting the passcode option. You could also use a Hardware Token (Security Key).

How do I enroll in Duo Security if I don’t have a smartphone or tablet?
You can purchase a Duo Security Key from the COCC Bookstore for $10 to use as your Duo Security device. Your computer must have a USB port. All security keys will come with instructions. Shipping is available at checkout.
