Adding and Dropping Classes
Adding Classes
- Online Registration: You may register online up to 7 a.m. on the first day of class.
- After Classes Start: Instructor approval is required to add a course. Approvals are valid for two business
days. Once approved, you can add your class:

- In person at any Admissions & Records Office

Late Registration Fees:
- $30 for adding a class after week 2 of the term
- $50 after final grade rosters have been printed
Waitlist:
- You may add yourself to a waitlist up to 7 p.m. on the Sunday before the term begins without instructor approval.
- Online classes require instructor approval starting at 7 a.m. on the first day of the term.
Auditing Classes
- Students may audit classes to participate without earning credit.
- No prerequisites are required, but full participation is expected.

Dropping Classes
Important: Simply not attending class does not count as a drop. Students must drop by deadlines to avoid tuition/fees and unwanted grades. For more information please see the Attendance Requirement page.
Full-Term Courses

Notes:
- Instructors cannot drop students; the student must request the drop.
- Instructor approval must be obtained before the published drop deadline.
Short-Term Courses

Some specially priced courses may have different policies.
How to Drop:

Refunds
- Eligible refunds are processed within 3 weeks.
- Choose your refund method online via Bobcat Web.
- Any COCC debts are deducted from your refund first.
- Refunds are per course: Adding and dropping courses after the refund period may result in full charges for new classes, with no refund for dropped courses.
