Stacey Donohue
Professor of English
I am passionate about reading and writing, "about feeling something new, of being
affected by something that made the look of the world different." (Richard Wright)
All of my classes can be my favorite at some point in the term. If the discussion
on a particular day becomes energizing with everyone participating; if the time flies
by and students don't even notice the end of class has passed-- then that class becomes
my favorite course to teach!
The best aspect of teaching for me is that I cant imagine getting bored. Every term
there are new people to meet, and I'm introduced to new ways of viewing the world,
viewing humanity, through our discussions of literature, or through reading students'
writing. Being a teacher simply means that I get to be a student, a reader, a writer,
a facilitator - and I get paid for it!
