Andria Woodell
Associate Professor of Psychology
Andria Woodell says she fell in love with the COCC campus during her first visit in
2004 and was extremely impressed with the faculty. To teach at COCC "was probably
one of the best choices I have ever made."
Andria's favorite course to teach is Social Psychology, Violence and Aggression and
Positive Psychology. "It's my favorite trifecta," she explains. "Social psychology
teaches the fundamentals of social interactions. The information about violence and
aggression allows you to change the course of the dynamic and not perpetuate a cycle.
Then positive psychology restores your faith in humanity and allows you to develop
tools to help live a more meaningful life."
"I love watching how education changes a students life. My favorite experience is
seeing a person come into a class with a particular view on the world or uncertainty
about their abilities who gradually develops into a confident individual with specific
goals and complex thoughts that are now making a positive difference. It makes me
feel all warm and fuzzy, and that is pretty cool."
