Community Assistants

We’re Hiring!

We are currently Hiring for the 2025-26 Academic Year CA Team & the 2025 Summer Term HCA Team. There are 10 Community Assistant positions available and 5 Hospitality Community Assistant positions available.

Are you interested? We are hosting information sessions on both positions. They will be held on Monday, January 27th, at 5:30 pm in the Wickiup Hall Conference Room and on Thursday, February 13th, at 3 pm in the Wickiup Hall Lobby.

Overview of Community Assistant positions

    • Community Assistants serve as a peer leader within Wickiup, offering support in a multitude of ways
    • They exemplify our core values of Connection, Integrity, and Respect
    • They work closely alongside professional housing staff and report to the Residence Life Coordinator, Nicole Sharp

Community Assistants (CAs)

    • CAs serve during the academic year (September - June) 
    • Each community of students has a CA who is selected and trained to assist with student concerns, be they personal, social, or academic, as well as general college and community needs. CAs work to develop programming that builds relationships between the students and promotes a sense of community throughout the residence hall. The CA team is "on duty" during the evening and weekend hours. Additionally, CAs are trained to handle emergency situations, enforce college and residence hall policies and regulations, as well as carry out general administrative tasks.
    • Hours vary and include evenings and weekends
    • CAs are compensated with room and board, including a basic meal plan, as well as a stipend per term

Hospitality Community Assistants (HCAs)

    • HCAs serve during the Summer Term (June - August) 
    • HCAs assist with summer operations, including a small number of residents,  confrences , as well as general cleaning and maintenance. HCAs work to develop programming that builds relationships between the students and promotes a sense of community throughout the residence hall. The HCA team is "on duty" during the evening and weekend hours. Additionally, HCAs are trained to handle emergency situations, enforce college and residence hall policies and regulations, as well as carry out general administrative tasks.
    • Hours vary and include evenings and weekends
    • HCAs are compensated with a room and an hourly wage for cleaning and maintenance work
