Sponsored Dual Credit (SDC)
To teach a College Now course, high school instructors must go through COCC’s instructor approval process according to Oregon Standards for Accelerated College Credit Partnership and meet the same education and training requirements as COCC instructors in the
discipline. If a high school instructor does not meet qualifications set by the state,
they have the option for alternative approval via Sponsored Dual Credit (SDC).
With SDC, a COCC faculty member will partner with the high school instructor to provide added support and training in order to articulate the course. This approval route involves training sessions facilitated by the sponsoring COCC faculty as part of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) throughout the academic year. Please see below for upcoming SDC opportunities.

BA 218: Personal Finance |
The Sponsored Dual Credit training for BA 218 is composed of two training days in the fall with the first date being October 17, 2025 from 9am to 1pm. The last training date will be in either early November or early December. There will also be a winter and spring professional learning community meeting. All dates will be discussed and set in the October 17th meeting. Participants must attend all trainings and professional learning community meetings to be approved to articulate. |

CS 160: Computer Science Orientation |
The Sponsored Dual Credit training for CS 160 is composed of a summer workshop and a professional learning community meeting each COCC term. Participants must attend the workshop and all professional learning community meetings to be approved to articulate.

The Sponsored Dual Credit training for HST 202 and HST 203 is composed of a week long training from Monday, August 25th through Friday, August 29th, 2025 from 9am to noon. Participants must attend all five days to be approved to articulate. |
