    The Equity in Education One-Year Certificate of Completion provides skills and dispositions necessary to recognize and develop inclusive and culturally conscious practices. The program aligns with recommendations and guidelines from professional organizations dedicated to developmentally appropriate and culturally conscious practices in educational settings, such as Rise Up-Oregon's Early Learning System Plan, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the Oregon Department of Education-Early Learning Division, and Teaching Tolerance.

  • STEM in Early Learning

    STEM in Early Learning - One Year Certificate of Completion (CC1)

    The STEM in Early Learning one-year Certificate of Completion provides early learning educators with the initial content, skills, and dispositions to support young children’s engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive practices. Required coursework will address the content and pedagogical considerations for supporting young children about the foundations for STEM related focus areas. This certificate prepares current and future early learning educators for employment opportunities that include classroom teaching, family advocacy and engagement, before/after school programming, and early learning curriculum design. Courses required for the STEM in Early Learning align with requirements for the AAS in Early Childhood Education, and students may complete the STEM in Early Learning Certificate while working toward the AAS and/or other certificates in ECE.

Foundations of Licensure in Education Certificate of Completion (CFC)

    Foundations of Licensure in Education - Career Foundations Certificate of Completion (CFC)

    The Foundations of Licensure Certificate is designed to support students pursuing a career in a K-12 educational setting.  It provides students with foundational knowledge and professional skills to successfully go to work as an Educational Assistant.  It is also stackable and leads directly to the completion of an AAOT for students wishing to transfer to a university and pursue a K-12 teaching license.

    Elementary Education - Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT)

    The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer in Elementary Education is designed for students who wish to transfer to a four-year university and to become an elementary teacher or to pursue a career in education. Recommended courses explore topics related to student learning, teaching strategies, and requirements to become a professional educator. Courses are engaging and offer students many hands-on learning opportunities. Instructors work closely with students and seek to connect them early with transfer partners to ensure an efficient pathway to potential licensure.

    The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer with a focus in secondary education is designed for students who wish to transfer to a four-year university and to become a middle or high school teacher or to pursue a career in education. The degree includes courses related to the education field and to a specific subject area that a student will want to teach. Students should work closely with an education advisor and potential transfer universities to select appropriate courses for an efficient transfer process.
