Associate of Applied Science and Options

The Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) and the Associate of Applied Science degree option (AASO) prepare graduates for direct entry into the workforce. The AAS includes courses that build technical career skills and proficiency. The AASO features an option reflecting a specialization in the field.

    Business Administration Associate of Applied Science (AAS)

    The Business Administration Associate of Applied Science (AAS) prepares students for immediate employment in business occupations. The Business Administration AAS may be awarded indicating emphasis in the following areas of specialization: General Business, Accounting, Management, or Small Business/Entrepreneurship.

  • Accounting

    Accounting - Associate of Applied Science Option (AASO)

    The Associate of Applied Science Accounting Specialization degree qualifies graduates for employment as accounting managers, full-charge bookkeepers, staff accountants, accounts payable managers, and accounts receivable managers.

  • Small Business and Entrepreneurship

    Business Administration: Small Business and Entrepreneurship - Associate of Applied Science Option (AASO)

    The Small Business and Entrepreneurship Associate of Applied Science Option qualifies graduates to start and run a business, grow an existing business, or be employed in a new startup venture. The skills learned will enable the student to comprehend and assist in the basics of successfully operating a small business. Employment opportunities and job functions will vary greatly with industry, size of business, and geographical region.

One-year certificates of completion are designed to give students a foundation for careers in business administration. All coursework may be applied to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Business degree.

    The Accounting Clerk One-Year Certificate of Completion is designed to give students a foundation for careers in clerical accounting. All coursework may be applied to the Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration.

    The Office Professional One-Year Certificate of Completion prepares students for occupations such as executive secretaries and administrative assistants, human resources assistants, and clerks. The program can be completed in an academic year; students can continue to earn the Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration.

Associate of Science Transfer (AST)

The Associates of Science Transfer (AST) program is designed for students with a high level of certainty about earning a bachelor’s degree in a business program from an Oregon public university.

  • Associate of Science Transfer

    The Business Associates of Science Transfer (AST) program is designed for students with a high level of certainty about earning a bachelor’s degree in a business program from an Oregon public university. The degree meets lower-division general education requirements for transfer to an Oregon public institution, and students who successfully complete the courses and program GPA requirements will transfer in with junior standing in the major. Admission to a business school is not guaranteed; students are strongly encouraged to contact the institution to which they intend to transfer before choosing courses in the AST.
