What's for Dinner? COCC's Culinary Classes Have the Answer
COCC Continuing Education
As the leaves start to fall and the school year begins, many of us take comfort in comfort food. For others, we miss the dog days of summer when dinner means a slapdash of leftover BBQ chicken and roasted veggies we picked up at the local farmers market. Whichever category you belong to, Central Oregon Community College can jump start your weekday dinner plans, give you confidence in the kitchen and liven up your culinary skills.
Each term, COCC's Continuing Education Department whips up an incredible array of non-credit classes, particularly for community members interested in expanding their culinary horizons. For those who need help developing their basic skills, students will find foundational courses such as “Intro to Culinary Techniques,” a six-part culinary boot camp and "Quick Artisan Breads." Maybe you just need to a few new ideas to jumpstart your meals? Try "Italy: A Taste from North or South" or "Spice it Up! Creative and Health Indian Herbs and Spices."
For fans of The Great British Cooking Show, fall also conjures up visions of holiday baking and this term’s schedule does not disappoint. How about "Holiday Treats for Giving" or "Fall Harvest Baking"? And in a nod to the sign of the times, COCC even offers, "Help! My Guests Have Special Dietary Needs."
Whether you're a cooking wiz or a kitchen neophyte, COCC’s fall term classes can take you to the next level on your culinary path. Check out the full culinary class schedule – and all of the great courses offered by COCC's Continuing Education program – and register today!
