What is College Now/dual credit?
Central Oregon Community College's (COCC) College Now program is a dual credit program. This means that high school students enrolled in a College Now course through their high school have the option to register for college credit resulting in both high school and college credit through COCC. High school teachers that are approved to teach College Now classes provide the same rigor and course outcomes as an on-campus college class. College credit earned through COCC's College Now program is regular college credit which can count towards a program at COCC or can be transferred to other colleges and universities. College Now provides a head start on your high school student's college education resulting in less time to complete a college certificate or degree while saving a amount in tuition costs.

What College Now courses are offered at each high school?
Select your high school on the College Now homepage to see College Now courses offered.

How does my high school student become a College Now student?
Have your high school student speak with their counselor about College Now and their schedule. Registering for a College Now course happens after the high school class has started and is facilitated by their high school teacher.

How will I find out information on registration and the program?
Only students scheduled into the College Now courses at their high school are able to register. After high school classes begin, teachers share information on College Now in class as well as through the LMS (Canvas etc.) and parent portals (ParentVue/Parent Square).

What does College Now cost?
College Now courses are $25 per credit. Most courses are between 3 and 4 credits. There are no other fees or books to purchase.

How do I pay for the College Now course fees?
Your high school student will receive an email confirming their registration as well as information on how to pay. Parents and family members will receive the same information if your student includes a parent/guardian and their email address on the release of information section on the registration form. Payment can be made online through your student's COCC Bobcat Web Account or you can call COCC's cashiering office at (541) 383-7229, Monday through Friday, 9am to 4:30pm to make payment over the phone.
