ECE Department Receives $150,000 Grant

In August 2014, COCCs Early Childhood Education program wasawarded a $150,000 grant from Oregon Department of Education to increase thenumber of early learning professionals with degrees and/or certificates byoffering college courses that are strategically scheduled to complementwork/family hours along with scholarships, books and assistance with navigatingthe higher education process. The ECE faculty are working together with multipleCOCC departments and community partners, such as Neighbor Impact, tofacilitate a program called Partners in Practice (PiP), that in the firstsix months, succeeded in awarding 107 scholarships and offering newcourses in Warm Springs, Madras, Prineville, Redmond, and Bend for earlychildhood providers.
