Why study Forest Resources Technology and Forestry?

Set in the unique ecosystem of Central Oregon, the COCC Forestry Technology program offers students a hands-on, well-rounded education in forestry and natural resources, where field studies take place in varied outdoor learning labs. From wildlife and forest pathology to conservation and fire science, the course topics connect a broad spectrum of skills and scientific material, with instructors bringing distinct academic specialties into the classroom. Work-study positions and industry networking opportunities help elevate new skills into practical career starters. With an on-site arboretum amid a 200-acre wooded campus, an extensive herbarium, a fully equipped lab, and quick access to nearby forests and separate ecosystems, the program, accredited by the Society of American Foresters, has the resources to support and inspire futures in the field of forestry.

Program-Specific Information

The Forestry program provides courses, degrees and certificates to prepare students for immediate employment into forestry-related industries, transfer to a baccalaureate program in forestry or natural resources, or advancement in current forestry or natural resource careers.
