College Sustainability

Recognizing that sustainability is defined in many ways, COCC’s goal of College Sustainability focuses on creating processes and systems to foster a high-quality and operationally sustainable work, learning, and natural environments. To this end, COCC assesses it progress towards this goal though feedback from the Great Colleges to Work For employee college climate survey, employee turnover rates and the President’s Climate Leadership Commitment metrics.

The College identified several action projects to recognize the scope of this goal. College Sustainability Action Projects include:

• Development of a Facilities Master Plan
• Developing a plan to achieve carbon neutrality and other strategies through President’s Climate Leadership Commitment
• Identifying additional opportunities to give employee awards, recognitions and celebrations, as well as expand professional development opportunities
• Implement a Unified Data Analytics Solution
• Expand COCC’s culturally inclusive hiring practices work
• Upgrade identified business operations
